Antig Technology having showcased in CeBIT 2005 its unique PCB (printed circuit board) fuel cell modules product and the compact, CD-ROM size prototype fuel cell for notebook PC, is back this time with partner AVC Corporation (Asia Vital Components) to introduce the finish application product – world’s first commercially available integrated fuel cell for notebook PC. Both headquartered in Taiwan, AVC took Antig’s SoC PCB fuel cell module technology and integrated with its own expertise in thermal and system design & manufacture, to come out a CD-ROM size fuel cell pack product with high reliability and most competitive price worldwide.

This CD-ROM size fuel cell pack runs on methanol fuel and is integrated into notebook PC using media-bay slot and is showcased at AVC stand. Also on display is a methanol fueled portable power system product, weights 1.7 kg (3.7 lbs) and offers 45 Watt on a hybrid power structure, supports 8 h notebook PC operation with single methanol cartridge.

With ODM projects already rolling for un-disclosed system makers, AVC expects its fuel cell products shipments in later 2006.
