I like to drink my coffee when I read my emails and the morning news. But never was thinking to surf the internet, view photos, watch movies, play games (with joystick!) all from my coffee table
The new ‘surface tension’ coffee table is the ultimate in modern style and functionality. Beneath its dark mysterious surface is also a retro games platform, jukebox and media centre. Offering users the ability to play popular arcade style games with authentic arcade controls, listen to music using iTunes, display photos and DVDs, browse the internet, watch digital TV channels and of course, it’s also simply a coffee table.
The ‘surface tension’ table is a creation by Bournemouth based electronics engineer Dan Rees and his company ‘Industry Standard Ltd’. Just over a year ago he created a unique ‘state of the art’ conceptual piece of furniture, initially for his own amusement, but he soon realised that what he had created appealed to a much wider audience. ‘It started as just one of those fun projects’, says Dan, ‘and before I knew it I was Mr Popular as the table became the centrepiece of some great parties!’
‘onedeko’ the London based contemporary home interior, has been selected to be the first South East stockist of the table. Noel McManus (Manager of ‘onedeko’) says ‘As ‘onedeko’ specialise in contemporary home interiors, we are always looking for the latest innovative products. This is why we were delighted to be chosen, especially as this unique table is available in a range of finishes and able to suit my customers’ varied needs’.
Dan also advised that since the ‘surface tension’ table has been made available through ‘onedeko’, the immense response means that he is now left with significantly reduced stock levels and with a 4 week lead time from order to delivery, he is concerned that customers avoid being disappointed for Christmas and place their orders now.
The ‘surface tension’ table seems to have the full package for anyone looking for total escapism. No tag for this post.
