At the beginning of this month, ASUS unveil B51 notebook. It was presented like a “ruggedized notebook for tough Environments”. When we receive it to test it our first thought was “let’s put a car on it and spill some water on the keyboard!”

Of course we ask for permission of ASUS and the answer was quick: “Do it!”. So, we do it!

See in the bellow video what was the results and feel to let us a comment.
*Update* more water for B51! More fun!

Sweet!
In my opinion, not nearly enough water to simulate a real spill on an everyday desk..but the car was indeed crazy!
We re-test it with more water. enjoy.
That chick was hot.
We need a better test. Let me run over that thing in my Chevy Truck.
Girl, please come and test my laptop! jump on it to see if broken
I need one of this!!! how much? where can I buy one?
there is a lot of water (in the second video )
That was a waste of time.
3 camera views of the same thing is still the same thing. And that’s no where near enough water to damage laptop. The keyboard is probably one piece w/o holes to goto the actual internal components of the laptop.
And dropping it from 6-7 ft is probably much more damaging than running over it with the back tire of a car (front tire is heavier? engine?).
Please stop wasting your time making bad reviews. Not funny. Not entertaining. I only wrote this because this post pissed me off so much.
dh, did you see the second video with a lot of water? or you are just stupid?
Oh good god, you ran over it with a Geo Metro, that’s like letting your cat traipse across it with the lid closed. Want a real test, run over it with a Dodge 2500 HD.
This is way too cool! I like rough and tough when it comes to my PC. You would too if you are always on the road and has to use your PC for almost anything. This ASUS is great if the tough-test you did really works but I do not plan to put my PC to such a trial considering how costly it can be. But why not try it with this Motion Computing F5 Tablet from http://www.pressdigital.com.au/. It claims to be tough as well as very useful when it comes to actual field work and it can do the job when it comes to using a bar code scanner, using WiFi, Bluetooth, 3G and a standard radio frequency reader. Hope you can do it before I decide to buy this thing!
