THQ Inc. (NASDAQ:THQI) today announced plans to deliver its first demolition derby style party game, SpongeBob’s Boating Bash, in spring 2010. Currently in development for the Wii video game system, Nintendo DS, and Nintendo DSi, SpongeBob’s Boating Bash is a high energy and fast-paced video game that lets players compete as one of nine SpongeBob characters and “crash-n-bash” their way to victory within demolition arenas throughout Bikini Bottom.

The multi-player game allows up to four players to drive more than 100 customized boat mobiles, while trying to knock off and collect other boat parts in order to earn points and move up levels, and ultimately earn their boat mobile license.

After failing to pass Ms. Puff’s boat mobile driving class 78 times, SpongeBob SquarePants remains determined to finally earn a boat mobile license but is tricked into taking the wacky “Learn to D.R.I.V.E.” course offered to him by a shady shark named Seymour Scales. SpongeBob has no idea that the course literally will steer him in zany directions. SpongeBob’s Boating Bash will introduce an off-the-wall driving adventure that will have players swerving to avoid obstacles, crashing against other boat mobiles to win a race, all the while collecting boat parts to earn points. Driving behind the wheel of customizable boat mobiles, players will wreak havoc and demolish their opponent’s boats to ultimately be the last one standing.

The Casual Entertainment Label of Electronic Arts, Inc. announced the release of NERF “N-Strike” for the Wii. The game, inspired by the globally popular franchise from Hasbro, Inc. (NYSE:HAS), features non-stop NERF-style pandemonium where players are faced with a series of challenging missions that put blasting strategies and skills to the ultimate test. NERF “N-Strike” also ships with a custom NERF SWITCH SHOT EX-3 blaster, the first ever 2-in-1 video game and toy peripheral bundle to hit the market.

The bundled NERF SWITCH SHOT EX-3 blaster, which offers two ways to play, can be used in-game by snapping the Wii remote into the chamber or swapping in the dart cartridge to transform the blaster for classic NERF indoor and outdoor play.

NERF “N-Strike”, which targets boys 10 and older, features more than 25 unlockable in-game blasters including digital replicas of popular real world NERF toy line blasters such as the Longshot CS-6 and Vulcan EBF-25 as well as never-before-seen fantasy blasters like the Crusher and Semper Fire created exclusively for the video game. As players enter the top-secret NERF training facility and begin to engage in the high-octane action, they quickly discover the importance of choosing the best blaster for the job as they pull down big victories or fall short and get taunted by in-game characters who have already achieved top blaster status.

NERF “N-Strike” gameplay progresses through various chambers, each featuring a series of missions and characters that must be overcome before moving to the next level. Example missions include “Dawn of Machines” which puts players behind the NERF blaster long-range scope and “Onslaught” which overloads the screen with moving targets that must be cleared as quickly as possible. NERF “N-Strike” offers multiplayer capabilities for up to four players to battle and determine who has what it takes to become the top Elite Striker.

NERF “N-Strike” for the Wii comes bundled with the NERF SWITCH SHOT EX-3 blaster and has a MSRP of $59.99. For expanded multiplayer fun, additional SWITCH SHOT EX-3 blasters are available in retail toy aisles and can be purchased separately for $14.99

Futuremark Games Studio today revealed Shattered Horizon, a new game where players fight to survive in the aftermath of a catastrophic Moon mining accident that throws billions of tons of rocky debris into near-Earth space. In this multiplayer first-person shooter for PC teams of players experience realistic zero gravity combat surrounded by the broken remains of orbital infrastructure and the millions of asteroids now encircling the Earth.

With simple and intuitive controls players have complete freedom of movement, making full use of the distinctive environment to control the battle. Shattered Horizon rewards players with gameplay and tactics impossible in games constrained by gravity.

Appealing to everyone who has ever dreamed of going into space Shattered Horizon puts the player in the spacesuit of a survivor from the Moon mining operation or one of the astronauts trapped on the battered International Space Station. With Earth surrounded by debris there’s little chance of rescue or return. Desperate battles are fought and control of limited supplies means the difference between survival and death in the cold of space.

Jukka Mäkinen, Head of Futuremark Games Studio, said, “We are excited to reveal the first details of Shattered Horizon. Fans of 3DMark have been asking us to make a game for many years. We’re working hard to create something new, different and very, very fun.”

“In zero gravity the player is set free to play in new ways,” said Antti Summala, Lead Game Designer. “Complete freedom of movement and unique level design create an experience that is at once familiar to anyone who loves the FPS style and yet strikingly different to any game they’ve played before.”

Mikael Bowellan, Lead Artist for Shattered Horizon said, “Players will be awed by the epic sight of countless asteroids circling the Earth. Our stunning lighting effects create the look of real space for both the natural and man-made objects. We’ve taken existing concepts in weaponry, propulsion and spacesuit design to make the world of Shattered Horizon even more convincing and believable.”

The company says their intimate knowledge of the latest PC hardware allows them to tune the game’s engine to extract impressive visuals on a wide range of systems. While the game will showcase stunning graphics on high-end PCs, gamers need not spend a fortune to enjoy the unique gameplay.

The game has not yet been rated by ESRB, PEGI or other rating bodies. The official website is

This research, sponsored by the nonprofit organization HopeLab and published today in the medical journal Pediatrics, provides scientific evidence for a growing field of product development that taps into the positive potential of video games and other popular technology to improve human health.

“We have very effective treatments for cancer in adolescents, but they only work if the patient takes them,” said Steve Cole, Ph.D., vice president of research at HopeLab and co-author of the article. “This study shows that a strategically designed video game can be a powerful new tool to enhance the impact of medical treatment by motivating healthy behavior in the patient.”

The study evaluated the impact of playing Re-Mission, a video game developed by HopeLab specifically for teens and young adults with cancer, on key behavioral and psychological factors associated with successful cancer treatment. In Re-Mission, players pilot a microscopic robot named Roxxi as she travels through the bodies of fictional cancer patients, blasting away cancer cells and battling the side-effects of cancer and cancer treatments. This study on Re-Mission is the largest randomized, controlled study of a video game intervention ever conducted, following 375 teens and young adults with cancer at 34 medical centers in the United States, Canada and Australia during three months of cancer treatment.

In the study, participants who were given Re-Mission maintained higher levels of chemotherapy in their blood (20%; p=.002) and took their antibiotics more consistently (16%; p=.012) than those in the control group, demonstrating the game’s impact at a biological level. Participants given Re-Mission also showed faster acquisition of cancer-related knowledge (230%; p=.035) and faster increase in self-efficacy (370%; p=.011).

“We now know that games can induce positive changes in the way individuals manage their health,” said Dr. Cole. “The game not only motivates positive health behavior; it also gives players a greater sense of power and control over their disease — in fact, that seems to be its key ingredient.”

Analyses of study data suggest that patients’ increased sense of control over cancer (self-efficacy) was a major driver of the game’s effect on medical treatment utilization. To better understand how game play delivers the outcomes highlighted in the Pediatrics article, HopeLab conducted a study that utilizes functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) technology to analyze the brain regions that are activated when people play Re-Mission. Data from this research will be presented in Tokyo at the 10th International Congress of Behavioral Medicine August 27 – 30, 2008.

“The process to create and evaluate Re-Mission was highly collaborative, often challenging, and an incredible learning experience,” said Pam Omidyar, HopeLab founder and board chair. “The publication of Re-Mission data represents the fulfillment of HopeLab’s founding vision — that rationally engineered technology can be a powerful tool to improve the health of young people.”

Other study authors include Pamela M. Kato, Ph.D., Ed.M.; Andrew S. Bradlyn, Ph.D., and Brad H. Pollock, Ph.D., MPH. HopeLab is applying insights gained from the development and study of Re-Mission to inform ongoing work in cancer, as well as innovative approaches to address obesity and other chronic diseases that impact young people.

Some people play games. Some people work to make money. But others play games to make money! Does this sound too good to be true? It is not so easy like looks at first glance.

Most famous game in making money is World of Warcraft. People play to obtain an advanced character and sell the account to people without time or patience.

The problems come to the buyer if the seller acts in bad faith. For example the seller can take the money and reclaim the account after. So, in this case the buyer remains without money and no account.
To avoid those kind of problem you need an account retailer for wow account. For example BuyMMOAccounts.com is a trustworthy company retailing World of Warcraft accounts. The benefits of use this company are so many. For example the most important is that your account will have a lifetime guarantee and protection from being reclaimed by a former owner or disabled by Blizzard Entertainment. Also, you will receive 24/7 customer support and service. It is good to know that all of the WoW Accounts listed on the web site BuyMMOAccounts.com has ownership of. When making a purchase you can be assured you are making payment to a legitimate company and not from a private seller.
Who much cost an account? Depend of the account. I saw some accounts priced $1299.0…

As you progress, the puzzles get bigger and more challenging. Because you write all your answers directly on the touch screen with your stylus, there’s no need for erasers – just write your new answer over your old one. Crosswords DS also includes a sophisticated hint system if you get stuck. Just tap the Hint button with your stylus and choose to receive another clue, reveal a hidden letter or solve the whole word.

“Crosswords DS brings crossword puzzles into the 21st century in a way that’s accessible to everyone,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “And because Nintendo DS is so light and portable, you can play it anywhere at any time.”

Crossword puzzles aren’t the only classic word games found in Crosswords DS. There are also more than 200 Wordsearch puzzles that let you hunt for hidden words amid a jumble of letters. For more word fun, you can turn to Anagrams and construct almost endless combinations of words from a handful of letters.

Crosswords DS, with its quick and accessible word challenges, is the latest in the Touch Generations line of Nintendo DS games. Previous games include Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day!, Brain Age 2: More Training in Minutes a Day! and Flash Focus: Vision Training in Minutes a Day.
